Q: What is Botox® Cosmetic?
A: Botulinum toxin is predominantly used as a treatment to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles and fine lines.

Botox is used medically to treat certain muscular conditions, and cosmetically to remove wrinkles by temporarily paralyzing muscles. It is made from a neurotoxin called botulinum toxin that is produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum.

It takes 24-72 hours for botulinum toxin to take effect. In very rare circumstances, it may take as long as 5 days for the full effect of botulinum toxin to be observed.

Q: How effective is BOTOX® Cosmetic?
A: BOTOX® Cosmetic is effective between eyebrows, at the edges of the eyes, on the nose, lips and forehead. Botox also smooths worry lines, lipstick lines, frown lines, crow's feet and bunny lines. It also improves both vertical neck wrinkles and horizontal neck bands (turkey neck)

Q: How long do the effects of BOTOX® Cosmetic last?
A: The effects from Botox will last three to six months. As muscle action gradually returns, the lines and wrinkles begin to reappear and need to be treated again. The lines and wrinkles often appear less severe with time because the muscles are shrinking.

Q: How do I know if I am a good candidate for BOTOX® Cosmetic?
A: PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) - This is referred to as the "Vampire" treatment since it involves drawing 2 lab tubes of blood (approximately 14 cc or less than 1/2 of an ounce). It is then centrifuged to separate the plasma, the platelet rich plasma, and the red cell portions. The plasma and PRP sections are then processed and can be injected, used with fillers, or used in combination with micro-needling. The person's own PRP section contains growth factors and possible stem cells which stimulates the person's own body to develop collagen in the areas treated. PRP can also be injected into the scalp to stimulate hair growth. This is one of the newest therapies that has been shown to be beneficial.

You could consider Botox injections if you have unwanted facial wrinkles. Your provider may decide that you are a good candidate for Botox if: You have moderate to severe facial wrinkles. The wrinkles should be located in areas that Botox can treat. These include areas around or between the eyes, on the forehead, or around the neck.

Q: What is Microneedling?
A: Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation procedure that helps minimize the signs of aging, improve the appearance of acne scars and rejuvenate aging skin.

Q: What are the benefits of Microneedling?
A: Primary benefits include:
  • Reduces Wrinkles and Fine Lines. The loss of elastin and collagen cause thinning, sagging skin, and facial wrinkles.

  • Improves Scars. Micro-needling is proven to diminish the look of surgery and acne scars.

  • Reduces Appearance of Stretch Marks

  • Prevents Signs of Aging

Q: How long do the effects of Microneedling last?
A: Approximately 48 to 72 hours after the treatment you'll have an increase in collagen production. It takes at least four weeks to see noticeable results though. The new collagen will last for several years, which is why micro needling treatment is considered a very long lasting treatment.

Q: What is Allumera?
A: Allumera is the first noninvasive photodynamic cream that can even out skin tone and improve texture.
